Climbing

Rock Climbing is one of the mainstays which built TFAC into what it is today. In 1976 our founder Brummie Stokes stood on top of the world after summiting Mount Everest in days of limited equipment these were real adventures! TFAC can help you start on your journey to climb your highest peaks!

TFAC is able to offer a comprehensive climbing programme from artificial wall and indoor group sessions. We also offer one to one skills coaching off site on trad and sport routes. Climbing up naturally involves coming back down so you’ll get to do some abseiling too!

TFAC takes advantage of the wide variety of climbing to be found in the Wye Valley such as Symonds Yat,  Wintours Leap and Ban-y-gor.

TFAC also has a Boulder Barn. We run club sessions here as part of our Boulder Barn club. The Boulder Barn is open Monday and Wednesday evenings from 17:30 – 20:30. It costs £3 a session per person and shoes can be hired for £1

If you’ve tried climbing and are thinking about taking it up as a hobby you might want to look at our introduction to climbing courses.

We also run an introduction course to bouldering which cover all the basics. <<links to courses page
